Is there a distinction between geriatric and elder care?

The sort of care provided is a fundamental distinction between geriatric and senior care. The demands of the elderly vary from those of younger persons, and they need specialized care. Dr. Calvin Hirsch said that a geriatric physician handles a wide range of medical disorders and settings, and the patient may have many illnesses. A patient could have diabetes, arthritis, and a fractured hip, for example. Other illnesses, such as cancer or heart disease, may have been present in their medical history. They could also have issues with their muscles or joints. They may also be unable to move around freely, which might lead to prescription medication interactions. While the two forms of care vary in certain ways, there are some fundamental concepts that apply to both. Geriatricians must offer proper treatment while respecting the patient's privacy and dignity. They must also evaluate the legal responsibility and competency of the patient. They must also encourage informed consent and
